SUPERMAN SOLICITATIONS – MAY 2013 EDITION

I’m going to give this whole “talking about the solicitations soon after they hit the Internet thing” a try.  If it works out great, if not it was worth the post.  Normally I don’t talk about current events (Man of Steel posts notwithstanding) but maybe that should change.

So here we go.

My Two Cents

I am looking forward to Andy Diggle and Tony Daniel’s run on this book a great deal.  I am largely unfamiliar with Diggle’s writing but from what I have seen in the interviews he’s given he seems to have a good take on the character.  It’s nice to see that someone is actually going to do something with Lex in the New 52 as that character has been doing a whole lot of nothing and even though the whole Hannibal Lecter riff was cool I am still impatient for Lex to become Superman preeminent villain again.

Hector Hammond is looking for Superman to save him from the New God known as Orion in “Metropolis Burning!”

My Two Cents

I loved this cover the moment I saw it.  I have not been the biggest fan of Kenneth Rocafort’s art on this book, so a break from that will be nice.  Oddly enough I have a genuine sense of excitement in seeing Superman and the New Gods interact for the first time in the New 52, at least in the non-Earth-2 world.  To my mind the New Gods are Superman spin-off characters and I like to see them “mix it up” as it were.
