Thanks again for your great work discussing Superman. When I got around to updating Clark Kent's stats at www.superfriendstats.blogspot.com, it was good to see that the guy actually had infrared vision in the comics--not just in the classic cartoons!

I've always felt that Wolfman's interest in "everyday" goings-on (the Planet, Clark, etc.) provided a nice contrast to Byrne's higher-octane approach. As Michael noted in first or second 'cast, ADVENTURES was clearly situated to provide a look at Clark and the "world of Metropolis" as much as Supes. Tellingly, we see Jose Delgado (Gangbuster) and Bibbo Bibbowski, two more street-level characters, debut in issue 428.

I enjoyed this episode, also, guys. Good work. Adventure #428 especially -- it sounds like it has a real "Golden Age" vibe to it, as you said, with concerns about social issues and realistic criminals. What a dilemma for Perry -- I think I would probably not think twice about saving my child, either, but the story as you describe it almost has a "Crucible" feel to it. Keep up the good work!
