Another great episode gentleman! I'm just returning to comics after a way too long absence. I picked up the the first five Man of Steel trades and reading along with the episodes. I own the original MOS mini and hadn't read it for nearly fifteen years so it was coll to pick it up enjoy it all over again. My Superman collecting was spotty over the years read mostly the Byrne series not so much Adventures or Action so it was awesome to read the stories in their original context. You guys are like the DVD commentary for comic books. Keep up the good work!

With the talent involved and a World's Finest-style team-up driving the story, Action Annual 1 could (and should) have had a bit more zing. Granted, original (or, at least, less derivative) vampire stories are difficult to pull off. But, if anything, it should have been a tad easier in 1987 -- there had as yet been no Coppola's Dracula, Anne Rice movies, Underworld, Moonlight, True Blood, Twilight, etc. Then again, the issue's certainly helped by the fact that the only strict point of comparison at the time (Byrne era) was Adv. of Superman Annual 1, which wasn't such hot shakes, either.
