GLASSICS

The title for this post was originally a mistake when I was creating the folder to hold the pictures I took, but I think it’s a catchy term.

The thing that I have long known about my wife is that her family has a history of two things; collecting things and never throwing anything away.  In the attic in the house we live in are boatloads of G.I. Joe and Star Wars guys that her brother owned when they were younger.  It is just their way.

Tonight I off-handed said, “I wonder if you guys have those Burger King DC super-hero glasses.”  One step ladder later Rachel was digging through cabinets and sadly we did not find any super-hero glasses.

But we did find these.

Empire Strikes Back glasses from Burger King.

These things are awesome.  We found two sets.

We found two sets of these too.

And now, the most surprising of all finds.

SMURF GLASSES!

And finally…from 20 years ago…Ba100_1767

That’s it for now.  Now I have to put all this stuff back up into the cabinet.

Sadly, while I clearly remember all of those cups/glasses, I only owned the Grouchy/Grumpy Smurf glass. As I recall, it was a Pizza Hut tie-in. Or maybe some other pizza chain.

That glass died when I dropped it in the bath tub. Three year olds drop stuff a lot. Anyway, so the glass broke, right, and then I cut the absolute crapola out of my foot on the shard. It pretty much sucked.

Ah, the Batman Taco Bell Cup. I prolly have a few of those laying around somewhere. I know I had the Empire and Jedi glasses too.

Never got into the Smurf ones though.

On a Superman Note….Hells Yeah, Vartox is back in Power Girl #7.
