Episode 224: October 1995 Part 1

Welcome to the two hundredth and twenty-fourth episode of From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast!  This podcast has a simple premise; examine just about every Superman comic published between Man of Steel #1 in 1986 to Adventures of Superman #649 in 2006 in an informative and hopefully entertaining format.

Cover date October 1995 begins as two villains that have faced the Man of Steel in previous episodes return.  In Action Comics #714 The Joker is back in Metropolis because a toy magnate was stupid enough to want to produce Joker related toys without cutting the Clown Prince of Crime in on the action.  Then, in Superman: The Man of Steel #49, kids with bat wings are popping up in Metropolis again and Superman has to save Keith and his friends from the Fagin-like bad guy…Skyhook!  Plus, Clark is having some weird dreams about the destruction of Krypton?  Is this some foreshadowing for another major storyline that will stretch across the Superman titles?

Yes.

The answer to that question is yes.

The Trial of Superman is coming in a few episodes.  Get ready.

Below is a gallery of covers and selected pages from the comics discussed.
