Welcome to the tenth episode of From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast! This podcast has a simple premise; examine just about every Superman comic published between Man of Steel #1 in 1986 to Adventures of Superman #649 in 2006 in an informative and hopefully entertaining format.
Part index. Part commentary. Part history lesson. All podcast.
This week Michael and Jeffrey present a special, slightly longer than usual episode. Instead of looking at a particular month in the life of the Crisis to Crisis Superman they are splitting the books that came out with the cover date of August 1987 into two episodes. Why? Because Superman #8 and Action Comics #591 were part of a crossover that began in Legion of Super-Heroes #37 and ended in Legion of Super-Heroes #38. This story, which doesn’t have a flashy story arc name, was intended to clear up how the Legion had formed despite the fact that in the Post Crisis DCU Superman had never been Superboy. The boys give a little Legion history and then dive right into the story itself and because of the impact this story had not just on the Superman books but on the Legion of Super-Heroes Jeffrey and Michael are taking a little extra time to discuss it and thus they decided to divide the month over two weeks. Next week, in part two, Michael and Jeffrey will look at the rest of the books that came out that month in addition to tackling a good number of e-mails.
If you want to comment on the show or contact the hosts you can always private message Mike and Jeff, at the Superman Homepage, leave comments here or at the Homepage or here or email them by clicking this link. All questions, concerns, fears, trepidations and cheap shots are welcome. The guys will try to incorporate e-mails into the episodes once the show gets rolling.
Seriously, let us know what you think.
