OVERLOOKED DARK KNIGHT EPIOSDE 16: BATMAN #314 AND BRAVE AND THE BOLD #149

Episode 16: Batman #314 and Brave and the Bold #149

Welcome to the sixteenth episode of The Overlooked Dark Knight.  The is a non-index index show where the hosts, Andrew Leyland and Michael Bailey, look at Batman comics that rarely, if ever, get talked about.  They mostly stick to the later part of the Bronze Age but just about any era of Batman is fair game for their discussions.

This time out the guys talk about a pair of fun issues!  In Batman #314 the Dark Knight and King Faraday bicker as they try to foil Two-Face’s plans to sell state secrets.  Plus, Lucius Fox sticks his foot in his mouth with Selina Kyle.  After that is Brave and the Bold #149 where Batman teams up with the Teen Titans and shows a serious lack of knowledge regarding how voice identification works.  The Aparo art, however, more than makes up for this and you get to see Donna and Wally go undercover in a story that would, once again, fit right in on a Stephen J Cannell television series.  All of this plus a smattering of your feedback and a throwback to the ’90s!

Below is a gallery of pages from the comics discussed in this episode in case you were curious what they looked like.

  1. Another fine program, but I do have a disagreement about something. Andy said that Zack Snyder succeeded as an artist because it provoked conversation, but by that measure the greatest artist of all time would be Donald Trump.

  2. Martin Gray says:

I’ve not heard this one yet, my iTunes seems to be hiding you from me. But I need to ask, is ‘Epiosde’ a running gag?

  3. No…it’s me doing this on little sleep (or in this case, sick).
