FROM CRISIS TO CRISIS EPISODE 99: MAY 1992 PART 2

Episode 99: May 1992 Part 2

Welcome to the ninety-ninth episode of From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast! This podcast has a simple premise; examine just about every Superman comic published between Man of Steel #1 in 1986 to Adventures of Superman #649 in 2006 in an informative and hopefully entertaining format.

Part index. Part commentary. Part history lesson. All podcast.

Mike and Jeff finish off the Superman books with the May 1992 cover date this week in an episode that ran a little long. There’s a good explanation too; these guys just can’t shut up, especially about trading cards and cereal. Around all of that they talk about Adventures of Superman #490, Action Comics #677 and Justice League America #62. There is also some discussion about what else happened in the DCU when these books were on the stands and they even read some e-mails.

You can subscribe to the show in two ways. First there is the RSS Feed and there is also the iTunes link .

If you want to comment on the show or contact the hosts you can always private message Mike and Jeff, at the Superman Homepage, leave comments here or at the Homepage or here or email them by clicking this link.  All questions, concerns, fears, trepidations and cheap shots are welcome.

The Thrilling Adventures of Superman

Welcome to episode 22 of The Thrilling Adventures of Superman. The show’s mission is to explore the history and development of the Superman in his formative years by chronicling the Man of Steel’s Golden Age adventures in comics, radio and film.

This week, we again interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to bring you the second of the show’s special Fifth Week episodes. This time, Michael weighs in on a story from ACTION COMICS #900. Yeah, that story. It’s generated a lot of controversy, but Michael briefly talks about why that’s a moot subject, then opens up about a different aspect of the story and explains what really got under his skin.

Season 3 Episode 42

We discuss the DC re-launch titles and what we’re gonna pick up. Also (BE FOREWARNED!) we discuss the cacophony of complaints about the re-launch and more specifically the costume change of Superman. I want to let anyone know that listens to this podcast if you are really upset about the re-launch, you should maybe not listen to this because we go on a rant (Isaac more than anyone) about why we feel people are taking this too seriously and need to relax. We hope you enjoy it. We did!

023 Golden Age Superman – February 1940 B

Episode 023 — February 1940 B

Luthor is back, for the first time!  In this second half of Golden Age Superman’s coverage of Superman’s adventures in February 1940, Superman 4 takes us on two very different adventures with Luthor.  First we see him challenge Superman to a series of superfeats, and then our jaws hit the floor as he lures Superman to an ancient underground Pacific city to, um, fight dinosaurs.  And a giant rat.  But that’s okay because there are two more stories after that full of Superman goodness, and joining me again on this journey is Superpodcaster Michael Bailey (of Views from the LongboxFrom Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast, and Xavier’s Podcast for Gifted Youngsters).  I hope you enjoy it, and I’ll see you again next week!

If you wish to send feedback, you may do so in the comments below or via email.  You can also subscribe to the show through iTunes, and leave a review if you like to spread the word to others.  Thank you so much for listening!
