Superman in the Bronze Age 34 — November 1972

Made it to 34 episodes, and still going strong!  This episode, Charlie welcomes J David Weter from PADSMASH!, Green Lantern’s Light and Dave’s Amazing World of Superman, as the new, permanent co-host for the show.  And the guys waste no time getting into the thick of things, although tangents do slow them down a bit.  In this episode, a powerful enemy returns to take on Superman, Leo Dorfman says goodbye to Superman by telling a story that the guys take many issues with, and Metamorpho says goodbye after the Death of Simon Stagg?!?  Plus, ads and Elsewhere in the DC Multiverse.

027 Golden Age Superman — June 1940

Episode 027 — June 1940

After last month’s monster four-hour episode, Golden Age Superman is back with a more manageable length to cover the stories of June 1940.  In this episode, I take a look at Action Comics 27, which features Clark’s and Lois’s investigations of a rehabilitation home for wayward youths.  There is abuse afoot, and Lois is determined to stop it, and if you think she’ll need Superman’s help, you’re right.  And thus ensues one of the longest battles ever between Superman and a simple mortal!  Will the Man of Steel prevail against … MR. TWEED??!!  Find out in this latest episode!

FROM CRISIS TO CRISIS EPISODE 111: ECLIPSO: THE DARKNESS WITHIN PART 1

Episode 111: Eclipso: The Darkness Within Part 1

Welcome to the one hundred and eleventh episode of From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast! This podcast has a simple premise; examine just about every Superman comic published between Man of Steel #1 in 1986 to Adventures of Superman #649 in 2006 in an informative and hopefully entertaining format.

Part index. Part commentary. Part history lesson. All podcast.

After an unintended week off From Crisis to Crisis is back with a special guest and a special event!

That’s right, folks, Eclipso: The Darkness Within descends upon the show and Jeff and Mike couldn’t do it alone. Well, they could but what is the fun in that? So former guest of the show Scott H. Gardner (co-host of Two True Freaks and Tales of the Justice Society of America) stops by the luxurious From Crisis to Crisis Studios and helps the boys out in discussing Eclipso: The Darkness Within #1 and Superman: The Man of Steel Annual #1.

Mike and Jeff would to thank Scott for coming out to play for this episode and look forward to discussing the rest of this event with him over the next two weeks.  Be sure to catch Scott’s Superman themed podcast I’ve Got Something to Say About Superman right here at the Superman Podcast Network.

You can subscribe to the show in two ways. First there is the RSS Feed and there is also the iTunes link.

If you want to comment on the show or contact the hosts you can always private message Mike and Jeff, at the Superman Homepage, leave comments here or at the Homepage or here or email them by clicking this link.  All questions, concerns, fears, trepidations and cheap shots are welcome.

Next time: Superman Annual #4, Justice League America Annual #5 and Action Comics Annual #3 as Eclipso: The Darkness Within continues!

FROM CRISIS TO CRISIS EPISODE 110: SEPTEMBER 1992 PART 2

Episode 110: September 1992 Part 2

Welcome to the one hundred and tenth episode of From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast! This podcast has a simple premise; examine just about every Superman comic published between Man of Steel #1 in 1986 to Adventures of Superman #649 in 2006 in an informative and hopefully entertaining format.

Part index. Part commentary. Part history lesson. All podcast.

Things get a little wacky this week as Jeff and Mike finish out cover month September 1992. In Adventures of Superman #494 Superman has a run in with Kismet and goes through several of the key moments in the Man of Steel’s life and how they could have gone differently. The mood is more light-hearted in Action Comics #681 as Kitty Faulkner returns to the Superman titles with Rampage not far behind. Finally in Justice League America #66 Guy Gardner returns as does a former member of the League and boy does that vertically challenged hero act like a jerk. Mike and Jeff also look at the ads and discuss what was going on Elsewhere in the DCU!

Next time: Eclipso: The Darkness Within begins with a special guest!
