DOOMSDAY IS HERE!
This week Mike and Jeff present the final two chapters of the Doomsday storyline and to say that these were two very special issues of Superman is an understatement. Before they dive into the comics themselves the boys tear apart a conspiracy theory that was posted back in December on a site called Bleeding Cool regarding the Sand Superman from Superman Special #1. After that they dive right into Superman: The Man of Steel #19 where Doomsday finally reaches Metropolis and the true carnage begins. Finally, in Superman #75 Superman holds the line in front of the Daily Planet building and sacrifices himself to save his friends, his fiancé and his city. This episode is longer than most, especially for only covering two comics, but Mike and Jeff thought that these books, Superman #75 in particular, deserved the attention. Mike even opens up a sealed copy of Superman #75 “live” on the air. What did it contain? Listen and find out.
During the episode Mike mentioned a website from the late nineties that talked about the so-called “Iron Age” of Superman. Here’s a link to that site. Mike respects that everyone has a different opinion of who Superman is and what he represents but when a site dumps on his favorite era of the character it tends to annoy him.

I tried reading one of the articles linked to for that Iron Age Superman thing and it hurt my brain at how much was just seemingly personal opinion stated as fact (at least that’s my opinion of it anyways). Only part of the way through the podcast at the minute but that website annoys me too now.
