Hey everyone and welcome back to the latest episode of The Armored Hero Steel. In this episode we find out that Steel has discovered a plot to brainwash US Senator’s into change a piece of gun control legislation. Steel isn’t the only hero on the trail of finding the culprit. Miles Duncan adopts the persona of Double to find out who has brainwashed his cousin Senator Sarah Weaver.

Also in the episode we take a look at the ads of the book which includes some house ads as well as ads for an album box set and a collector cards ad.

After that we examine the other Superfamily books including Superman’s core books, Superboy, Supergirl in New Titans, Eradicator in Outsiders, Superman’s appearance in Primal Force and Guy Gardner: Warrior as well as a Superman: The Man of Steel Annual. We also look back at Ray #1 and 2 plus Green Lantern #53. Then lastly we learn more about one of the inkers who worked on Steel’s book in the Steel Files.

ACTION COMICS 298, March 1963, was published around January 31, 1963. It contained 32 pages for the cover price of 12¢. Mort Weisinger was the editor, and the cover was pencilled by Curt Swan and inked by Sheldon Moldoff. This cover featured the Supergirl story in the back of this issue, although she does not appear.

– The 12 page Superman story was titled CLARK KENT, COWARD, written by Leo Dorfman, pencilled by Curt Swan and inked by George Klein. This story has been reprinted in SHOWCASE PRESENTS: SUPERMAN vol.. IV.

– The 13 page Supergirl story was titled THE SUPER-POWERS OF LEX LUTHOR, written by Leo Dorfman and drawn by Jim Mooney. This story has been reprinted in SHOWCASE PRESENTS: SUPERGIRL vol. II.

Elsewhere in DC Comics 27 titles carried the March or March/April 1963 cover date, according to Mike’s Amazing World Of DC Comics.

Also highlighted in this episode are the issue’s ads and other features, including the METROPOLIS MAILBAG letter column.
