THE SUPERMAN AND LOIS TAPES EPISODE 11: JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK OR SORRY WE SUMMONED THE DEMON

Episode 11: Justice League Dark or Sorry We Summoned The Demon

This time out The BAM Crew (Bethany, Alison, and Michael) continue their hiatus fun by looking at something that barely features Superman at all.  Justice League Dark is a 2017 animated film that was part of the, for lack of a better way of describing it, New 52 movie series.  Batman reaches out to Zatanna when there is a magic based problem and she turns to John Constantine to figure things out and along the way we see Deadman and Swamp Thing and it’s just a hoot to watch.  The crew talks about the film and along the way they discuss why Michael has issues with Constantine and Batman sharing screen time together, Elseworlds stories, Etrigan the Demon, and so much more.

As promised, here is that list of the New 52 Animated Films

    • Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox (2013)
    • Justice League: War (2014)
    • Son of Batman (2014)
    • Justice League: Throne of Atlantis (2015)
    • Batman vs. Robin (2015)
    • Batman: Bad Blood (2016)
    • Justice League vs. Teen Titans (2016)
    • Justice League Dark (2017)
    • Teen Titans: The Judas Contract (2017)
    • Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay (2018)
    • The Death of Superman (2018)
    • Constantine: City of Demons (2018)
    • Reign of the Supermen (2019)
    • Batman: Hush (2019)
    • Wonder Woman: Bloodlines (2019)
    • Justice League Dark: Apokolips War (2020)

  1. Another fun episode, and I must thank you for pointing me toward what sounds like a fun animated film to seek out. I always enjoyed DC’s wide variety of characters, particularly the supernatural/magical ones, and it was always interesting to see them interact with the superheroes from time to time. This definitely seems to be something I’d enjoy.
I loved hearing Michael recite the entire summoning incantation for Etrigan, especially with the voice-deeping effect. Fortunately, the Demon did not appear as I was listening, because I think having to converse with someone who speaks in rhyme might quickly become annoying.
On a side note, I assume that the Mike Schmidt who composed your theme music is not the Hall of Fame former third baseman for the Phillies, because that would be an astonishing second career, post-retirement.
