Two days ago I posted the cover and discussed the contents of the Wizard JLA Special from 1997.  Today I’m posting the Superman feature from that special.

For the most part this feature lines up with how the other features were put together; talk to the current creative teams and get a sense of what the characters will be doing in their own books as well as how they fit into the JLA.  Superman was going through his Electric Blue phase so the conversation centered around that.

The thing that stands out the most to me is a quote from David Michelinie.  “Nobody thinks it will be forever and we’re not pretending it will be forever,” he said and referred to the change as temporary.  This is different from the line we were given from Dan Jurgens a few months before this.  It’s not the end of the world, but it stood out to me back in 1997 and it stands out to me today.  I don’t want to track anyone down and get to the bottom of it because it was twenty years ago, but I wanted to mention it here.

I hope you like the article.  Be sure to comment if something stands out to you or if you remember buying this back in 1997.
