HERE IT IS! This week Mike and Jeff wrap up the Exile arc in a jam packed, extra sized episode. In Superman #33 Superman works through his guilt with the Cleric while in Adventures of Superman #456 the power behind Morgan Edge is revealed…sort of! Finally in Action Comics #643 Superman returns just in time to save Lois and Metropolis from Turmoil, a giant robot from another world!

Come on, it’s Superman fighting a giant robot! What’s not to love?

Episode 42: April 1989

Welcome to the forty-second episode of From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast! This podcast has a simple premise; examine just about every Superman comic published between Man of Steel #1 in 1986 to Adventures of Superman #649 in 2006 in an informative and hopefully entertaining format.

Exile pulls an Emeril Lagasse this week and kicks it up a notch (BAM!) inside the books bearing the cover date of June 1989. Action Comics returns this week, at least in annual form, with Action Comics Annual #2 where a very important figure and artifact from Krypton’s past makes his and its first appearance in addition to revealing untold secrets of Krypton’s past. In Superman #32 Mongul and Superman throw down not once but twice. Finally, in Adventures of Superman #455 it is Mongul vs. Draaga as Warworld erupts into full blown civil war. Also Superman finally ditches the gladiator outfit that Jeffrey has such a problem with.

Next week: Exile concludes!

FROM CRISIS TO CRISIS EPISODE 41: MAY 1989

Episode 41: May 1989

Welcome to the forty-first episode of From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast! This podcast has a simple premise; examine just about every Superman comic published between Man of Steel #1 in 1986 to Adventures of Superman #649 in 2006 in an informative and hopefully entertaining format.

Mike and Jeffrey didn’t check the calendar before recording this episode but apparently it’s been 90 days because a certain imp from 5th dimension is back and this time Superman is nowhere to be found. It is Lex Luthor vs. Mr. Mxyzptlk in Superman #31. In Adventures of Superman #454 Superman gets mugged intergalactic style while Matrix visits Metropolis. Plus Hostile Takeover parts three and four, which is sixteen different types of awesome. All of this happened during the Superman books that had the May 1989 cover date and after the comics come the Elsewhere features and the e-mails.

Next week: Exile gets REALLY good.
