OVERLOOKED DARK KNIGHT EPISODE 55: UNDER THE HOOD FINALE – UNDER THE RED HOOD COMMENTARY

Episode 55: Under The Hood Finale – Under The Red Hood Commentary

Welcome to the fifty-fifth episode of The Overlooked Dark Knight. The is a non-index index show where the hosts, Andrew Leyland and Michael Bailey, look at Batman comics that rarely, if ever, get talked about.

This time out Andy and Mike close out their Batman: Under The Hood coverage by yakking over the Batman: Under The Red Hood animated film. What did they think of Judd Winick’s second stab at the story? What did they like? What did they think of the voice cast? Did it work better as a film than as a comic book story? These questions get answered along with other observations, bad jokes, and slight tangents.

The commentary starts as soon as the episode starts, so if you want to synch up with the movie, start the episode when the movie begins.

VIEWS ON…A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 2: FREDDY’S REVENGE

Episode 4: A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge

Welcome back to Views On…, the most irregular show here on the Fotress.  This time out I took advantage of spooky season and asked Beth VanDusen (who is part of the Needless Things Podcast and one of the co-hosts of the Execute Chapter 66 podcast) to join me to talk about a horror movie that doesn’t get a whole lot of love.  In fact, it gets hardly any love at all.  In fact, it is usually listed as the worst of the franchise.  I’m talking, of course, about A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge.

Beth and I recently re-watched this movie and also watched the documentary Scream, Queen! My Nightmare on Elm Street and had a new appreciation for a movie that I never thought was as bad as people said it was.  We talk about our histories with Freddy, how we first saw this movie, and then our thoughts on the movie both as a horror film and as part of the Nightmare franchise.  Beth and I also discuss the supposed sub-text of the movie and how we were both baffled that one of the creative people involved with the film did not see what was plainly in front of his face.

I’d like to once again thank Beth for coming on to talk about this movie.  It was a lot of fun and the show turned out as good as it did because of her.

Views On… is available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.  You can email the show by clicking this link with all questions, concerns, fears, and trepidations.  Also, if you could leave a review over on Apple Podcasts, that would be keen.

Next Time: No clue.  As usual, the next episode has not been recorded yet, but this is an irregular show, so it will return at some point.
