Episode 58: Superman & Batman Generation II Part 1

Welcome to the fifty-eighth episode of The Overlooked Dark Knight. The is a non-index index show where the hosts, Andrew Leyland and Michael Bailey, look at Batman comics that rarely, if ever, get talked about.

Andy and Mike continue their travels through the Elseworlds of John Byrne’s Superman & Batman: Generations by looking at the first two issues of Superman & Batman: Generations II! The imaginary tales continue as the guys explore stories that took place between the stories from the first series.  The years 1942, 1953, 1964, and 1975 are covered this time out and we see such events as Superman assisting the JSA in World War II, the birth of Diana and Lois’ daughters, the second generation of heroes teaming up for the first time, and the ghost of Dick Grayson haunting an old and near dead Joker.  Mike also reads bits and bobs from the reviews he wrote for these issues back in 2001 for the Superman Homepage.  You can find the review for issue one here and the review for issue two here.

Below is a gallery of the covers and select pages from the comics discussed during this episode.
