DOOMSDAY IS HERE!
That’s right, loyal From Crisis to Crisis listeners, the epic Death and Return of Superman saga begins this week with an episode so massive Mike and Jeffrey had to split it up over two weeks. After the boys finished this week’s exciting installment they realized that they had nearly four hours of raw audio and as much fun as they had during the recording process a three to three and half hour episode might be a bit much. So cover date December 1992 is going to be stretched over three episodes, which is probably best for all concerned.
Anyway Mike and Jeff kick off their coverage of the Death and Return of Superman by discussing why this storyline was so important not only to them but to Superman as a character. They also look at the first six or so chapters of Roger Stern’s Death and Life of Superman novel as well as the first 45 minutes or so of the Superman Lives audio adaptation as they will be covering that book and audio drama alongside the individual issues. After a break the talk turns to Superman: The Man of Steel #18 which features the Underworlders attacking Metropolis as well as Doomsday attacking…everything that gets in his way.
