Episode 127: Funeral For A Friend Part 4
Welcome to the one hundred and twenty-seventh episode of From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast! This podcast has a simple premise; examine just about every Superman comic published between Man of Steel #1 in 1986 to Adventures of Superman #649 in 2006 in an informative and hopefully entertaining format.

This week Mike and Jeff present the final episode of From Crisis to Crisis.
Why?
Because the second comic they discuss this week is titled The End, which means it is the last issue of Superman ever.
Actually Jeff and Mike look at the final two chapters of Funeral For A Friend, which took place in Superman: The Man of Steel #21 and Superman #77 respectively. In S:TMOS #21 Lois finds out that Superman’s body is gone and goes to Cadmus to see about getting it back. Apparently that fails because in Superman #77 Lois lets Lex Luthor II and Supergirl know that Cadmus is behind the theft and they go get Superman’s body.
Also, Jonathan Kent has a heart attack and dies.
And that’s where the Superman creative teams of the time left us, folks. Superman dead. Jonathan dead. Lois heartbroken and, oh yeah, Lex Luthor back on top.
Heck of a time to take several months off, don’t you think?
Mixed in with all of that is the usual talk about the two novelizations, the BBC audio drama and the obligatory complaining about the Omnibus from Mike. Jeff also has his Meanwhile, At The Daily Planet segment.
