Episode 149: November 1993 Part 1
Welcome to the one hundred and forty-ninth episode of From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast! This podcast has a simple premise; examine just about every Superman comic published between Man of Steel #1 in 1986 to Adventures of Superman #649 in 2006 in an informative and hopefully entertaining format.
Part index. Part commentary. Part history lesson. All podcast.
The boys are back!
That’s right, faithful listeners, after an extended and not quite planned break Mike and Jeff have returned with new episodes of FROM CRISIS TO CRISIS! Sorry we’ve been away so long…it won’t happen again.
(Future Edit: That’s a damn lie and Mike knows it.)
Unless there is a family emergency or something. Or one of them gets sick. You just can’t plan for stuff like that.
Anyway, it is time to get back to basics. Superman has returned but there is a little bit of house cleaning to do and the November 1993 cover dated books are where that began. In SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL #27 Bloodthirst makes his move and Lois gets a haircut! Seriously. That’s a big part of the issue as is Lex Luthor starting to go back to his old EVIL ways. Then in SUPERMAN #83 Superman and a host of heroes head on out to Coast City to take care of the Engine City problem. Some of the heroes, including Green Lantern, want to dump it into the ocean. Other heroes, like Aquaman, think that’s a bad idea. Which side wins? Listen and find out. Finally the boys hop into a cab, pay their $6.50 and head to the segment they like to call MEANWHILE AT THE DAILY PLANET.
In all seriousness we are sorry that there has been so much of a delay. It is mostly Mike’s fault as he wanted to get a few of these in the can before he began releasing them so that the show can get back to a weekly schedule. Hopefully this issue is resolved and normal service will resume. Thank you for your understanding on this matter.
You can subscribe to the show in two ways. First there is the RSS Feed and there is also the iTunes link.
