Episode 183: Zero Hour Part 4

Welcome to the one hundred and eighty-second episode of From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast! This podcast has a simple premise; examine just about every Superman comic published between Man of Steel #1 in 1986 to Adventures of Superman #649 in 2006 in an informative and hopefully entertaining format.

Part index. Part commentary. Part history lesson. All podcast.

THE COUNTDOWN TO ZERO CONTINUES!

Zero Hour marches on with Mike and Jeff delving even deeper into this reality changing event. In Zero Hour #2 the future is threatened and a new villain emerges. Then in Adventures of Superman #516 Superman finds himself in a very different Metropolis protected not by the Man of Steel but by the Alpha Centurion. The crossovers continue with Detective Comics #678 (Batman learns the shocking truth about the night his parents died), Outsiders #11 (which in all honesty has nothing whatsoever to do with Zero Hour and the boys are kind of curious why it was considered a crossover issue), Justice League Task Force #16 (more on the hero known as Triumph), L.E.G.I.O.N. #70 (the final issue of that series) and Team Titans #24 (also the final issue of that series).

As with the past two episodes we have more Zero Hour related scans.  First up are the solicits for Zero Hour #2 and Adventures of Superman #516.

Solicitation 3- Zero Hour #2 Solicitation- Zero Hour Adventures of Superman

Next up is the back page from Zero Hour #2.  The bit about Outsiders #11 is absolutely true which doesn’t make up for the fact that the book doesn’t even reference Zero Hour.  Not even in passing.

Seriously…why did Outsiders #11 have the Zero Hour trade dress?  Did we miss something?  It’s possible but we don’t think so.
