Welcome to the seventieth episode of The Overlooked Dark Knight. The is a non-index index show where the hosts, Andrew Leyland and Michael Bailey, look at Batman comics that rarely, if ever, get talked about.
Well…that’s what they do most of the time.
That’s not what they’re doing this time.
This time, Andy and Mike have a chat about stuff that has been on their minds lately regarding their status as comic book readers. Topics jump around until the last twenty minutes and include, but are not limited to, Mike coming back to the Superman books, how the mainstream audiences can make or break a comic book movie, asking if the single issue as a vessel for telling comic book stories is dying in favor of the graphic novel approach, how comic readers these days have lost their hoarding mentality, why Dick Grayson is the best Batman, Grant Morrison, and so much more. It’s fun conversation that not only gave Andy and Mike a chance to ease back into recording after a seven month hiatus but also gives you an idea of the conversations they have on a regular basis.
