YouTube Tuesday returns!

After giving it some thought I decided to bring back this segment because I thought YouTube Tuesday sounded a heck of a lot better than Fun Time Friday at the Fortress.

This blog…always a work in progress.

Today I present an episode of the New Adventures of Superman series produced by Filmation in the sixties.  I like this show.  I really do.  I think it captures the Superman of the Silver Age to near perfection.  The thing is that as much fun as that material is it can also be goofy as hell.  Case in point; The Pernicious Parasite.  Watch it and then join me below the cut for some commentary.

Back in the day I did YouTube Tuesday here at the Fortress.  I decided in this Brave New World of this blog that I would move the YouTube goodness to Fridays and thus FUN TIME FRIDAY AT THE FORTRESS!

Not the best of names, but it is what it is.

This week I present (or I guess YouTube presents) the Superman in ’66 featurette from The New Adventures of Superman (DC Comics Classic Collection) DVD released in 2007.  I still don’t own this DVD but hopefully once the finances are straightened out I can rectify that situation.

I really dug these videos, especially all of the Jose Luis Garcia Lopez art and the presence of Mark Waid, who is the king of comic book featurettes.  I will admit that I harbor the hope to one day be on one of these things, but I doubt that will happen.

But a man can dream.  Yes, a man can dream.

That’s it for this week.  Next week the first full week of the new Fortress.  I hope that everyone here in the States has a happy and safe Fourth of July.
