Episode 12 – Justice League Dark: Apokolips War or King Shark Is A Shark
The BAM Crew (Bethany, Alison, and Michael) are back with the final hiatus episode and this is a heavy one. Following up from last week’s discussion of Justice League Dark, the Crew is looking at Justice League Dark: Apokolips War. Bethany and Alison loved this movie. LOVED. THIS. MOVIE. Michael…had thoughts. And misgivings. They spend a little over an hour hashing everything. They also reveal who had The Most Punchable Face and they sort through the listener feedback.
It’s fun. And emotionally draining. But mostly fun.
The Superman and Lois Tapes can be found on both Apple Podcasts and Spotify. The show can be reached by email at thesupermanandloistapes@gmail.com. You can also leave comments here or over at the Facebook page for the show, which you can get to by clicking this link.
The main theme for the show is “Heroes” by the awesome Mike Schmidt. You can find his work over at Speed Force Music.
Next Time: Superman and Lois is back, so The Crew will be talking about that.
Another entry by the BAM crew I remember not liking also I was watching it during my darkest moment during Quarantine last year and after it I felt depressed but hopefully. But I will always watch anything that has matt Ryan as Constantine and not a fan of the King shark is a shark. Anyways can’t wait to hear your episode on the return of Superman and Lois.
I did borrow Justice League: Dark from my local library recently, based on your coverage of that movie. I haven’t yet had a chance to watch it (Life, and all), and, based on this episode, I’m not sure I would enjoy Justice League Dark: Apokolips War as much, but, once I’ve watched the first movie, I will probably borrow this one, just to see what I think of it. Thank you for covering these films that I really didn’t know much about. I do enjoy learning about things I hadn’t known much, if anything, about before, so, even if I end up not liking this one so much, I will have learned something.
I am looking forward to the return of Superman and Lois episodes on my TV, and your coverage of those episodes in my ears.
I have mixed feelings about this movie. It is well executed and has some great moments. And it does a fantastic job of juggling so many characters. Everyone is used in interesting and original ways while still feeling in character. But watching my favorite characters die horrible deaths is not my idea of a good time.
The Constantine/Zatana ship feels weird given their relationship in Tynion’s JLD comics.
