THE SUPERMAN AND LOIS TAPES – SEASON 2 EPIOSDE 1 – WHAT LIES BENEATH OR EVERYBODY NEEDS SO MUCH THERAPY

Season 2, Episode 1: What Lies Beneath or Everybody Needs So Much Therapy

The CW series Superman and Lois is back with a brand new season, so The Superman and Lois Tapes is likewise starting a second season.  The BAM Crew (Bethany, Alison, and Michael) are present and accounted for and ready to report for duty.  This time out they talk about the previously mentioned first epsisode of Season 2, which was titled What Lies Beneath.  The Crew discusses the amount of therapy most of the cast of this show would need after last season, how certain sentences only work when you say them in the context of fiction, Mitchell Anderson’s attitude towards Superman, Superman’s place as a world figure, how teenagers are going to teenager whenever they can, and how well the relationships are written on this show.

After that, The Crew reveales who had The Most Punchable Face of the episode, who was The Most Aesthetically Pleasing, and there’s even a Professor Bailey’s Superman 101 segment about the comic book roots of Mitchell Anderson.  Plus…LISTENER FEEDBACK!

During the 101 segment, Michael mentions what Mitch looked like when he was introduced in 1992 and the fact that he eventually became a super-hero called Outburst.  Below are images of his early comic book appearances and what his Outburst outfit looked like.

During the episode, Michael mentioned the four epilogue pages that appeared in the Superman titles in 1992 during the lead up to the Doomsday storyline.  These are those pages if you haven’t seen them.

Michael is writing the reviews for Superman and Lois over on The Superman Homepage.  Check out his review for What Lies Beneath by clicking here.
